Welcome to The Cambridgeshire

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Newmarket

About Us

Based in the historic home of horse racing, The Cambridgeshire Bed and Breakfast is a newly refurbished house close to the race courses and Tattersalls in Newmarket.
Anna has been resident in the town for over 20 years, originally from Wales. She grew up on a small pony stud farm, studied biology at Bristol University and worked as a laboratory technician.
She decided to take a year out from her career to work with horses, moved to Newmarket and soon settled in. Her career in racing saw her employed as an exercise rider for Newmarket trainers Ben Hanbury, L.M.Cumani, Clive Brittain, and Robert Cowell. She fell in love with Newmarket and the racing world and never returned to her original career. Anna retired from the saddle in 2015.

During her life in the area she has a grown a wide knowledge of local attractions, and can recommend places to visit and to eat.

We are ideally situated for visits to the historic cities of Cambridge, (for the University Colleges and shopping), Ely, (for it's excellent local market and the magnificent Cathedral), and the pretty market town Bury St. Edmunds.
